We flipped over it and sold most of the 100 copies Charles pressed up for himself and when it was gone, asked the man if we could repress it.

He said yes and here ya go. In case you dont know: Charles Albright has been a fixture in Sacramentos underground punk scene for over a decade. Chances are the only band of Charles that youve heard is the Pizzas, but he has been in a ton of them.

This here is the first solo record hes ever done and it is a killer. No bullshit psych punk that still lurks in the garage and has great over-blown guitar that sounds like young Charles has soaked up plenty Leigh Stephens and Greg Ginn, which he has. Three songs long, one sided.

They broke up once but got back together when their fans BEGGED them to!

Structured free jazz in the mode of Threadgill, Lake, & Ayler mixed with the out rock of Captain Beefhearts Magic Band. Recently given a favorable review in The Wire.

Fans of the Geeks or Tragic Mulato will enjoy. White vinyl in a great Troy Mighty drawn tri-fold sleeve. No cd issue, vinyl only. A sample from Rinpoche. A bit of Healthy Vaginal Walls.'

Artist: Title: Eins, Zwei Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $16.00 'While Berlin. Germany isnt exactly nowhere, the amount of attention garnered by BANQUE ALLEMANDE since their inception in 2005 they might as well be from Quedlinberg. When I stumbled on them and was blown away by their songs, I started to wonder What the fuck is wrong with you people? Actually nothing: Banque Allemande (also known as dbZwoVier) have spent the last 5 years avoiding Berlins rock scene, chosing to play subway cars, a hamburger grill, and the like. They recorded a couple albums worth of fantastic songs, but never spread them around. What was posted on myspace got lost in the flood of bands there. They lurk in the shadows no longer.

Banque Allemande has a relentlessness that reminds me of the Gordons and Rema Rema, the thuggish charm of Feedtime, and some 1-2-3-4 yucks of i dunno, name some late 70s euro punk outfit-but thats me hearing them. Their background is in the bands DISCOUNTER, TRUMPF AS, and MOSER INDIAN. Their ears are attuned to the hammering beats of Boys Noize. Or as they describe their sound: minimalistic, cut-down songstructures-yes please. Rough sounds, straight beats-yes please. If what comes out is called punk-whatthefuck.

The label also helped dement the world by distroing their next two singles and putting out their split 7-inch with Tyvek. And now they are very very very happy to present this Parisian trios debut album, simply titled Cheveu.

This dad is chock full of these Frenchmens unique take on punk rock & electro, kind of like a bastard mating of Trio, Stockhausen, and King Coleman-or at least that challenging. But Cheveu dont lose the song in their experimentation. You can even dance to these numbers. Limited edition pressing of 600 copies with silkscreened sleeves.' -S-S Records.

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Summer Romance Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $7.00 'If this summers insane heat waves hasnt warped you, CHINESE RESTAURANTS 'feel good hit of the summer' will. When we last met the Restaurants they were hand in hand with sonic dadaist Mattin, debuting their 'River of Shit' EP on the S.S. Now with the same irreverence but moving the music a bit left field, they turn out two unique slices of summer bread. On the surface you wouldnt hear 'Summer Romance' as a pop song, but let the needle ride and you will hear hooks galore, a tune that references sumemr classics by Television,? And the Mysterians, Joy Division, Mungo Jerry, David Dundas, and others.

The flip is a stirring rendition of the Mexican classic 'Nunca Jamas', a strum happy dirge that brings to mind The Ex and their take on folk songs from the Spanish Civil War. The Chinese Restaurants are from New York City and are helmed by LF RESTAURANT (aka ACULPULCO RODRIGUEZ) and KEITH RESTAURANT (nee REDGERSON) with assistance by BUNNYBRAIN MALCOLM TENT, KEMP BOYD and others. Edition of 300 copies.' -S-S Artist: Title: Gimme Cigarettes Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $5.00 'Long rumored to be a Sparks side project, Cigarettes were not Sparks but an obscure Los Angeles art punk band featuring Pipe, Lonny Carlysle, Marc Question, and Bat Lucky. Behind those nom de musique were one John Clancy, keeper of the Cigarettes flame, and Philo Cramer, who left the band to join something called Fear. For years, Sparks fans thought the Cigarettes were their art/glam heroes but they were wrong.

Not wrong to think so, as if you imagined what Sparks would sound like if they had gone punk, this might be it. And I write that with all due respect to the Cigarettes, for what these guys did was not only let Sparks influence their sound, but their attitude. Thus they take things a few steps beyond the influence and create something unique. That something are two songs that both attack and make you laugh.

I found my first copy of their single at a store for a buck. It was beat up but played fine and upon dropping needle on Gimme Cigarettes, I felt pure glee.

A wave of silly excitement poured over me. I played it on my radio show a few times and got an email from John Clancy saying, 'Hey, you played my old band on the radio!' He sent me a nice copy of the record and I convinced him to let me reissue it. So for the first time, here is a legitimate reissue of the Cigarettes fantastic 1978 Carlysle/Moxie single, with the unfortunately neglected Oh! And liner notes on the bands history. S-S fans will enjoy this one. 500 pressed and moving fast.

The puppy was conceived last year and, through much pain and language snafus, it is finally being birthed. So what does this little monster sound like? Ahhhh lets go back in time to 1983 and a place called Europe where tons of DIY bands were releasing their take on gloomsters like Joy Division, Crisis, and the Cure.

The sounds were a bit more primitive than that Holy Trinity, and also rawer and wilder. Fast forward to now and that sound is currently being tapped into by Frustration and now HIS ELECTRO BLUE VOICE, a mysterious trio from Lake Como, Italy. Much more emotive than their Paris cohorts, fronted by a semi-unhinged, charmingly incoherent vocalist, HEBV teeters on the edge and twists into odd deconstruction of their songs. The same question comes up when the fellas take the stage at Shanty Days. But editor Lee Lawrenz of the Kewaunee County News knows whats up. He writes, You might listen to Hue Blancs Joyless Ones and think, That sounds like the Scientists, or I think they stole that from the Gibson Bros., or That boss sound reminds me Neil Young with a flame in his ass and youd be right and wrong. The Joyless Ones are all that and none of that, too.

They are Algoma boys and we are proud of them. This is Hue Blancs third record. Previously they released a 7on Trick Knee and then a LP on P Trash. We think this one is the best yet. Some of Venice Sun. A smidge of Bloody Nights.

Artist: Title: Gone Gone Cold Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $17.00 'Gone Gone Cold marks Los Llamaradas third and final album.

Since their first album on S.S., The Exploding Now!, Llamarada has made some of the most striking psychedelic punk of the last decade. In the spirit of Red Crayola and 13th Floor Elevators, Llamarada approach to psych is devoid of rules, trends, or convention. Like Mars, they feel their way through sound, finding songs in the playing. However, while The Exploding Now! And their second album, Take the Sky, reflect the bands (then) excitement with their future and possibility, Gone Gone Cold looks at present day Mexico and its never-ending drug war.

On Gone Gone Cold, fans of Los Llamarada will hear their oft-noted claustrophobic sound, but the songs a less settled than before. Confusion trumps structure, until a riff or pulse builds in intensity and the song enters into panic. Or a song starts at a panicked pace and unravels into a single phrase. There still is the subverted surf-guitar and male/female chant/vocals, but the drums are stronger and keyboards more insistent -- sounds desperate for a way out.'

S-S Artist: Title: Restless Light Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $5.50 'Its been a couple years and some since the world has heard from LOS LLAMARADA. Aside from some emails back and forth describing the deterioration of Llamaradas hometown, Monterrey, under siege in the Drug War, I hadnt heard from out friends down south. Then in Fall 2010 I received nine cassette tapes full of Llamarada recordings, pretty much most of the stuff theyd been working on over the last two years. I spent the next few days going through them, quickly realizing that there was more material than an album could handle. So Llamarada and I plucked out a couple of killers for a 7' (and started working on the other cuts for a full length later in 2011). To start, Llamarada gives us their jump on Rezo Por Voz, a classic by Argentinian rock legends Luis Alberto Spinetta and Charly Garcia.

In the Llamarada way, what you hear of Rezo Por Voz in The Restless Light are hints and dustings of the original. This is no straight cover, but a psych punk romp of claustrophobic proportions. Flip the single over and we have A Current, an original taut and moody, a guitar drones spaghetti western style over a tense plain. Drop this into the opening scene in El Topo and I wouldnt complain.

Cover art by HERLA ALARCON. 500 pressed.'

Artist: Title: Take The Sky Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $13.00 'New album on S-S from Los Llamarada entitled Take The Sky. Originally slated for an earlier release, we held off on putting it out until we built this into one serious killer. While some of the murk of the first is gone (dont worry, it still has an eerie lo-fi sound), it has been replaced by sharp psych stun guitar which will make your jaw drop.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Low Red Center Format: 10' Label: Country: USA Price: $15.00 'S.S. Records is really happy to release vinyl debut of Low Red Center.

While their sound centers around electronics, to call them a minimal synth band or electronica or post-punk is selling them short. Low Red Center not only have a great sound, but they have great songs, and a couple of ace singers. Originally a studio project, in 2004 Low Red Center morphed into an improvised group. Containing members of Voxtrot, Oblong Boys, Pataphysics, Spoon, NonoBangBang, and other Austin bands, LRC staged shows that involved heavy costuming, theater, dance, and, of course, music. Eventually, many of these improvised pieces were molded into songs. In the words of Chad A., The object of Low Red Center is an exercise in improvisation and communication. Surprising ourselves as musicians by experimenting and discovering on stage, in front of an audience is of our goals.

Restraint and listening are our approach to playing. A dedication to succinct presentation prevents unwanted jamming and convinces the audience that what we are performing are practiced, pre-written songs.

The sound we have in mind is minimal and somewhat alien, with a vague film noir feel. This tension is frequently broken with a faster, more jagged post-punk approach. The recordings present a studio translation of our live principals, but with the luxuries of production embellishment and craft. Everything was performed (no sequencing) on analog electronic synthesizers, acoustic instruments, and electric guitar and bass. All the drum machines were actual individual organisms, breathing with us in the studio--nothing was sampled and rearranged. No computers were used. Influenced by Cluster, John Foxx, Tuxedomoon, Bruce Haack, Crash Course in Science, Silver Apples, Raymond Scott, and Goblin, you can also hear Relando & the Loaf, Devo, the Plastics and others in their sound.'

The forerunners of the modern psych punk scene, the Monoshock have turned the ears of the Stooges Steve Mackey, Julian Cope, the schmoes at WFMU, & even Mitch Cardwell. Crazed wah-wah attack with enough drive to send Hawkwind back to outer space. There is so much scuzz on this CD that you will rip your damn head off in a state of frenzy and like it! All the singles & comp tracks washed of mud, plus demo.

Live stuff, & outtakes. A sample of Model Citizen.

A sample of Striking a Match.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Walk To The Fire Format: Double LP Label: Country: USA Price: $29.00 'Long considered a classic by music freaks and much sought after by modern psych nodes, the remastered reissue of MONOSHOCKs monster has been anticipated for quite some time.and now it is here.

Monoshocks roots lie in Isla Vista, a charming student ghetto stuck on Californias Central Coast. It was there that UMBILICAL CHORDS, a punk quartet who shot snot on the year 1987, were born. Scrappy and snotty, the Chords were led by guitarist GRADY RUNYAN. By 1988 the Chords were gone and Runyan, SCOTT DERR and RUBIN FIBERGLASS formed Monoshock taking garage blargh into realms previously occupied by the Stooges, Amon Duul II, Hawkwind, Blue Cheer, and other proponents of punkoid psychedelia or psychedelic punk or just good and loud rock & roll music. Later joined by ALUMINUM QUEEN on saxophone and DOUG PEARSON on all things Doug Pearson, Monoshock recorded three singles (on Womb, Blackjack, and Bag of Hammers) and a now legendary double album called Walk to the Fire (Blackjack).

The 1995 release of their magnum opus also coincided with the end of the band. Praised by a handful of people at the time, Walk to the Fire didnt really start getting its due until Julian Cope featured it on his website Head Heritage, bands such as Comets on Fire and the Wooden Shjips started referencing Monoshock as an influence, and S.S. Records assembled a CD anthology of Monoshocks singles, compilation tracks and demo recordings (2004s Runnin Ape-like from the Backwards Superman). Since its release Walk to the Fire has been hailed as a 'barbarian classic' by Julian Cope (who also wrote that 'Monoshock was to rocknroll what those Miles Davis 1975 wa-everything Japan-release-only double-vinyl monsters (Get Up With It, Agartha, Dark Magus) were to jazz. That is, superfluous to the fucking intellectuals but spiritual carbohydrates for the ones who knew'. Remastered from the original tapes-the result is a much better sounding record than the original pressing. Those fortunate enough to see their recent 'reformation' show at the S.S.

2 Festival have universally agreed the band was 'face melting.' Includes an insert with liner notes and photos.' Artist: Title: Anonymous Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Over the last couple of years, the Nothing People have released three stellar seven inch records and during that time they have built a ⿿fan club⿝ that includes Anopheles Records Karl Ikola, the guys at Victim of Time, Siltbreezes Tom Lax, In the Reds Larry Hardy, the folks down at Your Flesh, Ryan Wells of Z Gun, and many more. And over the last couple years this ⿿fan club⿝ has asked me ⿿Whens the full length?⿝ over and over again. Well, now they can shut the hell up because the Nothing Peoples first album is here!

And let me tell you this, while the Nothing Peeps have plenty of songs that yell out ⿿put me on a 45⿝, they have just as many that demand to be heard in long form. 600 pressed.' -S-S Records Artist: Title: Late Night Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Its been ten months since the Nothing Peoples debut album Anonymous came out and since then weve heard nothing but praise.

In fact, the record wound up on many a Best of 2008 list. We are thinking that Late Night, their second full length, is gonna make even more people happy.

From the sci-fi, psych, proto punk bombast of the first, the Nothing People shift gears into a moodier, darker, and creepier existence. Here you get the influence of Dream Syndicates Karl Precoda and the later f-ed up work of Scott Walker.

The record does sound like a late night, on a deserted highway, maybe somewhere around the farm town of Orland, CA, where these three -- nope four (they added a former Monoshock keyboardist!) -- are from. And that cover art? It is by Ilth.

The Nothing People have released singles on S.S. And HozAc, as well as the aforementioned Anonymous, which is now in its second pressing.' -S-S Artist: Title: Parabolic Rock - 1975-1982 Format: Double LP Label: Country: USA Price: $24.00 'From their wine-soused, Magic Band obsessed roots to their art-rock/new wave end some ten years later, OZZIE made some fantastic music.

They built up substantial followings in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. They were a Mabuhay Gardens regular, sharing the bill with bands like the Weirdos, The Sleepers, VOM, and the Nuns. In Sacramento, they played with everyone from the Rutabaga Boogie Band and the Talking Heads to the Nerves and the Fleshtones.

However like many bands of the time, their limited output (only three 7-inches during their lifetime) and difficulty fixing them to one musical subgenre led to their obscurity and ultimately them being forgotten. In the early 90s, S.S.

Stumbled upon Ozzies 1977 debut single, 'Android Love,' and flipped. He tracked down one of the bands main members, WILLIAM FULLER, and struck up a friendship with him.

A decade later S.S. Tosses Fuller the idea to reissue 'Android Love' single with a different B side. Fuller digs out some reel to reel tapes, an act that starts a multi-year odyssey through the Ozzie archives.

The proto-punk meets glam wildness what made 'Android Love' (produced by PUBLIC NUISANCE/TWINKEYZ DAVID HOUSTON) such a great song was present in the tapes, but there was more: Massive doses of Blue Oyster Cult inspired hard rock brilliance, Roxy Music glam drama, Sparks-like art, Bomp! Records-worthy power pop, edgy new wave that recalls the Suburban Lawns, and mid-Seventies-style underground rock sounds that thrill any collector of private press obscurities, all with a Keith Moon/Jethro Tull inspired drummer. By the time, S.S. Was done digging through the archives, hed assembled a solid double album worth of unreleased and live material, as well as alternative tracks and a few gems from Ozzies previously released stuff.

Complete with a full history of the band, lots of photos, and archival images The Parabolic Rock: 1975 - 1982 is the definitive document of Sacramentos forgotten band, one worthy of mention with Sacto underground icons Public Nuisance, the Twinkeyz, and Tales of Terror.' -S-S Artist: Title: Live! At The Butchery With Special Guests on Fire Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $16.00 'Prisoners Go Go Bands one and only record is a remarkable thing. It was created in the early 1980s in a South Africa under apartheid, which was not only hostile to “race mixing,” but culturally conservative, as well.

While punk and alternative music existed, it received scant attention by major labels and no radio airplay. Distribution through record stores was limited to commercial music. Certainly, a mixed-race band influenced by Can, Red Crayola, Pere Ubu, Henry Cow, and Derek Bailey was not prime for mainstream hearing. Nor was Johannesburg in 1981 exactly the most inviting place for such a band to release its own record. But that is what the Prisoners Go Go Band did. In 1979, Yunus Momoniat, Iqbal Momoniat, and Neil Goedhals formed a friendship which lead them to playing music. They called themselves the Prisoners Go Go Band.

They never played a live show - neither the music they played nor the ethnic make up of the group allowed for that - but they did record their music. In a desolate part of Johannesburg, in Yunuss DIY recording studio, the three drafted some friends (the “special guest on fire”) and recorded hours worth of songs and sounds. From that they came up with an album and had it pressed up as a LP.

However, through mishaps and circumstance, it was a record few people got to hear and even fewer possessed - less than 100 copies were circulated. In 2007, a long-time fan of the label, a South African, tipped S.S. To Neil Goedhals solo work (to be released on S.S. At a future date). Goedhals was a conceptual artist and guitarist for the great SA post- punk band KOOS. He took his life in 1991, but left a lot of great music.

Dutch writer Fred de Vries was introduced to S.S. De Vries has written about Goedhals and KOOS.

He also turned us on to Prisoners Go Go Band. Upon first listen, it was obvious that Live! At the Butchery with Special Guests on Fire deserved a second life. Hell, it was one of those records that belonged on the Nurse With Wound list and in every Mutant Sounds fans library. And it certainly would have a good home on S.S. Four years ago we started to make that happen, and now it exists.

At the Butchery with Special Guests on Fire has been mastered from one of the few clean copies of the original record. The original handmade packaging has been recreated tob be as close to the original as possible. Liner notes telling the story of the record, culled from the words of one of the band members, are included. This pressing is of 330.' Artist: Title: Michigan Haters Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Originally released on CD in 2002 by Psych-O-Path, Michigan Haters never got a proper vinyl release. So after years of Sightings and SS talking about doing a single, I finally said 'Hey, Michigan Haters needs to be in vinyl.

Let me do it!' The record being one of the bands favorites, they said 'Certainly'.a combination of sounds which one reviewer likened to 'a storm of knives.' The overblown intensity was joined by abrasive twists and subtle unconventionalities. This is like listening to Terry Riley and Steve Reich though a Big Muff at 110 decibels.

With Michigan Haters, Sightings started on what would become nearly a decade long reinvention of the rock & roll song.' -S-S Artist: Title: Lady Chatterly Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $5.50 'Back in 1986 a few guys got together in London-town in order to form a band.

They ran an ad in the NME and found themselves a singer. They went through a couple drummers, played a bunch of gigs, released a few records, and called it quits. The band was forgotten by all but fans, friends, and a few music freaks.

Fortunately, this band had some live footage that made it to the internet.and that live clip made tens of thousands of music fans say Guh-guh-guh-GAH! The band is the SPERM WAILS. While prominent in Englands Camden Noise-core Scene and having toured with the legendary My Bloody Valentine, the Wails sister band, the SW didnt get much of a listen outside of Merry Ol. Their three records (Boy Hairdresser 12', Carry-On 7', and Grim/Stroke flexi disc) were self-released and never got the run they deserved. And as far as I know, they never made their way off of Monkey Island.

If you would have asked the S.S. Records brain trust about the Sperm Wails, you would have gotten a blank stare. That is until the Lady Chatterley surfaced. Propulsive punk rock with post-punk chops and one hell of an edge, Lady C. Showed a band that could have held their own to any of the eras heavyweights (Big Black, UT, Sonic Youth, etc.).

Figured Gotta have record. Problem was finding it. Had been released but in short run as a freebie with some obscure fanzine. The song was crammed on the record with three tunes by others and that was not right! Former members of the band were tracked down and begged for the right to release Lady Chatterley in proper form, as the A-side of a 7'. After much searching some Wails dug up an unreleased gem called Mr. Wonderful, a twisted piece of Fall-pop.

And that we called the B-side. The Sperm Wails broke up in 1989. Members remained active in Londons music scene, playing in bands like SPECTREMAN and THE LONDON DIRTHOLD COMPANY. Currently, a couple former Sperm Wailers are playing in the band BLOWHOLE (not the free jazz band of the 1990s). 500 pressed.' Artist: Title: S/T Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $10.00 'One of the things we at S.S. Are proud about is releasing the debut 7' of great bands: Nothing People, His Electro Blue Voice, Wounded Lion, XYX, Lenz, etc.

We continue this tradition with a three song 7' by A three piece from Austin, Texas composed of two Guitars and a drummer. The band shares members with DIKES OF HOLLAND, EXPENSIVE SHIT, and WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH. The sound reminds me of the Urinals, A Frames, and Icky Boyfriends with the kick of the first Wax Museums 7'. Figure that 3.5 decades of DIY/punk references means that SPRAY PAINT have a timeless sound. Sorry the price is a little higher but a small pressing like this will do that.

Painted & stamped sleeved. A pressing of 200.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Spock Fingers Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $8.00 'Spray painted lines on a piece of cardboard is as simple as 'art' can get. But you get to looking at it and you see contrasts, textures, spacing, and other things enhanced by a simple direct approach, things that get lost in a mess of images and muscular 'creativity.' This is the rule of less is more.

Apply it to rock & roll and it is a rule that Austins SPRAY PAINT lives. Following in the grand tradition of Wire, the Urinals, and the Icky Boyfriends, Spray Paint takes rock & roll and minimizes it to a few ungrandiose riff perfectly placed, catchy and energetic. Spray Paint puts all what is needed into a song and nothing more. It is an approach which made for a great debut single (on S.S.

And sold out quickly) and an even better follow up. Spray Paints 'Spock Fingers' b/w 'Pink Pus' 7' is their second record and is even better than the first. 'Spock Fingers' is riled up, punk energy in a wire-frame, wearing a spikey hat. 'Pink Pus' is a mid tempo grumbling tumbler. Both songs are excellent and housed in a spray painted and stamped sleeve, in a limited run of 300 and on S.S. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Malaria Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $6.00 'In the beginning, the U.V. Race were the product of two rural Australians imagination.

Throughout high school, Al & Marcus had the band but no sound. A few years go by and Al moves to Melbourne and joins Straight Jacket Nation with Daniel -- they play speedy hardcore. Marcus moves to Melbourne and with his pal Al, Daniel, Moses and Emily, U.V. Race made some noise. After some playing around, they released a great single on Aarght!

Records and a split tape with pals Eddy Current Suppression Ring. Records and this new record, Malaria, the U.V. Races second record.

Four songs long, the UVs take their influences (X, Cramps, Electric Eels, VU, etc.) and get loose. While the songs are songs, nothing is too planned out as the band thrives on spontaneity. Captured on tape by Eddy Current guitarist Mikey Young, Malaria is yet another great record to come out of todays Melbourne DIY scene.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Complete Discography Format: CD Label: Country: USA Price: $15.00 'Earlier this year Sacred Bones released the singles collection from 13th Chime which collected the scant few recordings released during their brief lifetime as well as a handful of heretofore unheard demos and alternate recordings. With their blend of dark driving aggression and sparse arrangements for a brief moment in time the band seemed poised to breakout of the day to day of slogging it out in clubs and onto the international radar but through a series of mishaps ended up a footnote and dissolving into obscurity. In the liner notes which told of the 13th Chimes formation and brief ascent as deathrock contenders it was noted that there was a number of recordings that were intended for a full length release and were subsequently shelved at the 11th hour due to record company politics.

Sacred Bones Records is now proud to bring to light the long lost LP. After languishing in the vaults for several decades the 13th Chime full length finally sees the light of day. The CD version collects both the full length and singles collection plus one bonus song called 'Pigs' on one disc and includes detailed liner notes that chart the bands rise and fall.'

- Sacred Bones. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: The Singles 1981-1983 Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $17.00 'Sacred Bones is proud to announce the release of the 13th Chime singles collection.

Long sought after by collectors, the UK band only released a scant three singles in their time together before dissolving into obscurity. Their sounda merging of deathrocks dark driving aggression and post-punks sparse arrangementsreflected the realities of life in a small market town in the desolate political landscape of early 80s Britain. In cooperation with the band members Sacred Bones has collected 13th Chimes three singles plus rare never before heard demo recordings of Tinker Man,Radio Man, and 13th Victim. Detailed liner notes by Clive OGrady tell the entire storyfrom schoolmates in the Suffolk town of Haverhill to tours with The Enid, Theater of Hate, support slots with The Adicts and Dead Kennedys, and an inevitable breakup, making friends and fans out of John Peel and The Groundhogs Tony McPhee along the way.

Look out for the Lost Album LP and The Complete Discography CD later this summer.' -Sacred Bones.

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Murder Dull Mind Format: 12' Label: Country: USA Price: $13.00 'Recorded while DAMON MCMAHON was living as an expatriate in China, AMEN DUNES presents seven new stunning works of sunlit haziness. During the two years he lived abroad, he lived most of the time in an apartment on the north end of Beijing. He tracked these songs one summer in that apartment. With the exception of 'Diane' and 'Murder Dull Mind,' all of these songs were recorded in one take and are completely improvisational; on repeated listens though, there is a pop-ness to these songs amidst the improvisation. The title track in particular, a melodic mantra-like work could certainly function on its own as a single. Although the songs have a bit less pre-written structure than Amen Dunes previous work on the Locust label, they are still every bit as miraculous.

The geographical influence on his work central to both writing and recording conditions is evident here as these songs are way more open, and generally more free than his debut Dia (recorded in 2006 in a Catskills cabin) was. A bit less psych freak out and a bit more dark folk vibe throughout.' - Sacred Bones. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: I Saw The Witch Cry/Nuclear Paradise Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $6.00 'Anasazi are somewhat of an alumni band for Sacred Bones. SBR-001, a long out of print 7' by NYs The Hunt, was fronted by Jasper McGandy, who plays bass in this new outfit.

Incubating in the dark corners and dusty basements of New Yorks underground, the four piece unleashed themselves to an unprepared public in the summer of 2011 debuting at the labels curated showcase for Northside Fest. Chi (Zombie Vandals), Keegan (Thriller), Jasper (The Hunt, Cult of Youth) and Brett (Vultures) came together to form a group that both embraces and rejects the best sounds of the 80s. Too tribal for punk, too angry for deathrock, the only phrase that adequately describes this melding is Attic Noise.' -Sacred Bones. Artist: Title: Have A Nap Hotel Format: 12' Label: Country: USA Price: $13.00 'Hot on the heels of their debut Mexican Summer long-player, THE BITTERS, consisting of AERIN FOGEL and the ever-prolific BEN COOK (ROOMMATES, YOUNG GOVERNOR, FUCKED UP), bring us their Have a Nap Hotel EP.

This Toronto-based duo have built a name for themselves forging their self-coined 'cave pop' genre, which merges elements of 50s melodies and dark post-punk instrumentals with just a hint of flannel. Their debut 12-inch EP Wooden Glove, was released last spring on Captured Tracks and sold out shortly after, having been instantly well-received among tough critics and keen listeners alike. Cooks jangly guitars stay back in the cut and let Fogels vocals (and the occasional fuzzy lead, saxophone, synth line, and handclap) wash over the tunes.

Their collaborative work appears live with the help of drummer JONAH FALCO (Fucked Up, CAREER SUICIDE) and a rotation of starry guest bassists. Though live shows have been scarce, owing to the members involvement with a number of other disparate projects, the band made their live debut a short time ago and found time to play the Sacred Bones label showcase at SXSW.' - Sacred Bones. Artist: Title: Diana (The Herald) Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $13.00 'For the quickly ascending career of the BLANK DOGS, this 12-inch marks another ringer, and already their fourth release of 2007, clearly showing an impeccable work ethic with no signs of stopping.

Each record sounding more unique and far out than the last, this brand new 12-inch EP on Sacred Bones shows the Blank Dogs evolving into a full-on goth-gone wrong killing machine, yet they dont need to get nasty. The effects the vocals reverberate through will cause instant nausea when exposed to the elderly and the weak, yet underneath lie those keenly disguised pop hooks that stick with you long after the record stops.

If Death Pop was ever really a term, the Blank Dogs now own it, yet their wrong wave wanderings can entertain fringe psych-heads just the same, hence their growing appeal across genre boundaries.' -Victim Of Time. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: On Two Sides Format: CD Label: Country: USA Price: $12.00 'BLANK DOGS proposition does also contain a great deal of the otherworldly, I think you shall find the way in which they resonate uncertain and hazy like transmissions coming from the other side most appealing, like reliable messengers delivering a lost love letter across impossible distances with a fierce passion which reminds me of that most excellent Sir John Maus. Blank Dogs seem to have studied in the cadaverous school of German minimalism where thaumaturgs such as Grauzone excelled, but covered some of the piercing angles with the flesh and blood of the new wave that these Islands did bear, particularly Joy Division and even Young Marble Giants at certain moments of trembling melodic beauty. All laced with that distorted barbed wire one finds in so many promising new acts from the other side of the pond.

Formidable material, I am sure you will agree, do purchase their album On Two Sides when it is made available and you shant be disappointed.' -20 Jazz Funk Greats Artist: Title: Alone Together Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Alone Together is the debut release from Childrens Hospital. If their despondent sounds remind you of something you may have once heard its because this is the latest project from the A-Frames/Intelligence/Rodent Plague/afcgt axis. Reminiscent of the brooding and gray skyline of their hometown of Seattle the duo hover between abstract soundscape compositions, Jandek inspired bouts of melancholy droned out dementia, and stripped apart abrasive punk.often combining several of these forms at once. If recent Rodent Plague releases on Killshaman and Jerkave Tapes are any indication it would be ill-advised to sleep on Childrens Hospital. ' - Sacred Bones.

Artist: Title: Cult Of Youth Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Born out of a love for the post-industrial music and culture that had inspired him ever since he had first discovered music as a teenager, Cult of Youth began as a series of home recordings by founder Sean Ragon. Ragons solo Cult of Youth project released a 7-inch and then one full length on then fledgling Dais Records (also responsible for introducing the world to Cold Cave and releasing Genesis P-Orridges pre-Throbbing Gristle recordings for the first time). The early recordings seemed to strike a chord with many people who felt alienated by the cultural irony and lo-fi slacker mentality that was ever present in independent music at the time. Adding three permanent members to the line-up: performance artist/director/painter/occult scholar Micki Pellerano on bass, machinist drummer Glenn Maryanski, and the violin virtuoso/goddess Christiana Key. (Keys brilliant string arrangements were recently featured on new Zola Jesus single “Poor Animal.”)
This is their first album as a proper band, produced by Chris Coady and mixed by Swans producer Kevin McMahon; its an ideal realization of the amazing potential this new full band line-up. It is a neo-folk masterpiece, perhaps the first of its kind from an American band.

Although still rooted in the acoustic guitar driven Teutonic chants of the early material, the focus has changed and the scope is broader. Cult of Youth shifts from delicate pagan folk music reminiscent of Paul Giovannis landmark soundtrack to The Wicker Man, to hazy Turkish psychedelic passages, and even to the rugged Americana of traditional country music. This debut is an unapologetic and unabashed search for a spiritual identity in an increasingly homogenized world.

It serves as a clear and thorough introduction for all the burgeoning dark punks out there who wanna go a bit deeper but havent yet figured out where to start.' - Sacred Bones. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Eight Ways to Start A Day (Singles and Demos) Format: CD Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Cultural Decay existed from 1980-1982. The latter was produced and features additional accompaniment by future Revolting Cocks co-founder Luc Van Acker. The band played a total of 15 gigs in local clubswith like minded Belgian acts such as Struggler, De Brassers, and Siglo XXbefore disbanding.

Eight Ways To Start a Day is the first official release in close to three decades from this fabled Belgian coldwave band. Their sound, a collision of ethereal one-note synth lines and dark post-punk aggression, recalls the controlled ferocity of Crisis and The Southern Deathcult at their best. The recordings on these releases comprise the bands entire recorded output and both the LP and CD include an extensive booklet including photos, liner notes and a comprehensive band history from member Joseph V. In addition to the previously released songs the LP includes three unreleased demos, Eight Ways to Start a Day, Thin Rope, and Exit Calls. The CD boasts those three plus an additional five tracks culled from previously unheard recordings and demos including Womb, Sink or Swim, Out of Balance, Losing Height, and a live version of End of the Corridor. - Sacred Bones.

The Chicago band which includes 3/4 of the Functional Blackouts and who cut their teeth with singles for Boom Chick, HoZac, and Floridas Dying pick up where they left off on their previous full length with a half dozen songs of disjointed, death-tinged noisy punk. Gary Wars thick, synth-heavy psychedelia occupies a space between spacey bedroom experimentalists like R.

Stevie Moore or the more contemporary Kurt Vile and the abrasive proto-punk of Chrome and Debris. The album expands on the more stripped down sound of his Sacred Bones 'Zontag' single, plying layers of warm fuzz and feedback on top of psychedelic pop song structures. Artist: Title: Zontag Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $5.00 'Sacred Bones presents the followup release to last year?s New Raytheonport full-length LP on Shdwply Records. Gary War?s keyboard and tape manipulations exist in the loner sphere somewhere between the Legendary Pink Dots?

Keyboard driven take on UK psychedelia and current fellow travelers like the Pink Noise. Like the LPD or Ariel Pink (to whom he?s garnered comparisons since the debut LP release) the odd experimental arrangements and off-kilter instrumentation never stray very far from melancholy pop song structures rooted around a catchy hook and melody.' -Sacred Bones Artist: Title: Duuug Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $5.00 'Italian punks His Electro Blue Voice mine territory first scoped out by Crisis, Warsaw, and early Xmal Deutchland. Artist: Title: Ancient Land Format: 12' Label: Country: USA Price: $12.00 'Statement From the Artists: 'Two forest travelers, united by the will form the Holydrug Couple. With a minimal formation they managed to create a bluesy exploration, which takes the audience to a psychedelic trance. Like the rhythm of a train, with mid-tempo songs, they provide the audience a dense and misty energy.

Without caring much about the contemporary scene they stand up for their own fascination about blues heroes, indian raga and hidden arts.' Ok, so English isn t their first language. But the jist is pretty basic-- these two soul brothers got together in Santiago, Chile, started jamming and formed a pretty serious spiritual bond. Part of the ever growing Chilean Psychedelic underground scene (F?kzoid, La Banda, The Cindy Sisters, La Hell Gang, This Schafferson Jetplane, et al.), Holydrug offer up more pop structured/ vocal heavy tunes than their mates F?kzoid despite the fact that Ives plays in both bands. 'Dont Let Your Love Die' a driving synth driven tune that almost goes pop-albeit in a very Alexander Robotnik kind of way-sounds like it might as well have been recorded on an NES console.

On the B-side 'Sometimes' is a dirge like midtempo song that goes beyond the obvious comparisons to the Helios Creed/Damon Edge orbit and at times recalls Sacred Bones labelmate Gary War and even Macs other project, Daily Void.' - Sacred Bones. Artist: Title: Twelve Dark Noons Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $15.00 'Having expanded from the no-wave two piece of LUCY CLICHE and MATTHEW HOPKINS to a fully fleshed out four-piece including drummer LACHLAN VERCOE and abassist NIC DE JONG, our favorite Australian outcasts return with a stunning EP as their follow-up to last years full length on Siltbreeze. This EP is a bit lighter in mood and delivery; in the words of the bands own Hopkins its a bit like, Dracula fronting the B-52s. While this is certainly Hopkins taking the piss, opening track, The Gift is a perfectly modern homage to past dark lords such as Bauhaus and Christian Death. Twelve Dark Noons serves as a companion piece to the short experimental film of the same name directed by JACQUELINE CASTEL and produced by CALEB BRAATEN of Sacred Bones and Night People Records. The film has had several premiers worldwide including SXSW and ZedeBois Gallery in Lisbon, it stars the bands core duo Lucy & Matthew in a horrific mental unraveling set in the Australian outback. Awash in the whips and twangs of a spring loaded reverb tank and faint hints of a distant drum kit, Nerve Citys hook-driven songs recall the hard-charging down-strokes of the Velvet Undergrounds more driving moments or, more recently, the psychedelia of West coast kindred spirits in Sic Alps and the Gris Gris. Over the past several years, the band has cemented a rep both live and on record. First came the Catholic School demo tape and the follow-up, Hell (both via Amateur Depression), then quickly sides on Severed Hand, Kill Shaman, HoZac, and Sweet Rot.s For the most part, those releases are now completely gone.' -Sacred Bones Artist: Title: Immer Etwas Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Immer Etwas is the first full length release from this one man bedroom recording project turned full on 5-piece live band. 'Mnemonic Device' is a slower plodding mid-tempo song driven by a hypnotic repeating keyboard line and fuzzed out vocals. 'Situation Is Facing Utter Annihilation' on the flip is the punkest Nice Face track to date bridging the gulf between disjointed no-fi punk rock and sinister synth and drum machine derangement.

Keep an eye out for forthcoming live dates from this heretofore bedroom-only project.' - Sacred Bones. Artist: Title: Thing In My Head Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $5.00 'Mid-tempo guitar and drum machine driven bedroom punk from this faceless one-man act. Electronic and organic drumming with keys with staccato punk guitar blasts--think the Residents played through a Big Muff. A double sider of deranged bedroom punk that shames the dozens of one-man-bands hunched over a Tascam trying to make a cheap knockoff of the original. The record sounds like it was mastered through a boombox onto a thriftstore cassette.

The Jerkwave cassette release, the previous 7-inch single, and their track on World?s Lousy (both on Almost Ready Records) are all long gone.' -Sacred Bones Artist: Title: Northern Rocks Bear Weird Vegetable Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Sacred Bones Records presents Northern Rocks Bear Weird Vegetable⿿the next full-length from London, Englands The Rebel. The alter ego of Country Teasers Ben Wallers, The Rebel dates back to the tail-end of the 80s⿿having existed side-by-side throughout the Teasers prolific career⿿often releasing records at a steadier clip than Wallers main project with songs too madcap to fit into even their William- Burroughs-by-way-of-The-Residents take on country music.

Wallers characteristic self-aware irony and surreal gender/race ruminations are still present but sitting backseat in this more fleshed out concept album about decaying conditions on the planet 3ar7h. Although Burroughs comparisons are inevitable, Northern Rocks Bear Weird Vegetable could only have been scripted by The Rebel. The albums narrator is in a band, has a valet named Mulholland, but inhabits an otherwise unrecognizable dystopian landscape where evil science laboratories combat college radio personalities, and nuclear war with Iran is well underway.

Important issues of today and tomorrow are touched on. In ⿿Why Must I Pay?⿝ Mr. Thatcher, a future Prime Minister, is excoriated for the rising costs of tea, rent, drugs and sex. In ⿿Scarlett Johansen Conceiving the Design⿝ we are shown a horrific world in which starlets replace scientists as consumerdoms inventors. In ⿿Youre Just Like Tammy Wynette⿝ the Radical Islam Problem is diagnosed by looking at the politics of ladies headgear, while in ⿿Turtle v. Octopus⿝ a battle between Lovecraftian ancient adversaries plays out, potentially affecting the future of Music itself.

This is the first Rebel album to be recorded in the studio with a live backing band.that band being Country Teasers. In terms of sound, Northern Rocks Bears Weird Vegetable exchanges The Rebels clautrophobic home studio layers and d.i.y. Effects for the improvisational band chemistry and controlled looseness of Country Teasers infamous live act.' - Sacred Bones. Artist: Title: Honeysuckle Tendrals Format: LP/7' Label: Country: USA Price: $22.00 'Honeysuckle Tendrals is a lost recording. It resides within a canon of musical output by a singer/songwriter no one has heard of, from a place that the world has almost entirely written off.

Recorded in 1999 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Honeysuckle Tendrals was Carls 2nd effort at a full length recording. He released it into the world in a miniscule edition of cassette tapes on his own Unconscious Piano Productions imprint. To say it was poorly distributed is an understatement. It was handed out to friends, and perhaps sold at various open mic nights, where he would sometimes pass off his own songs as Bob Dylan tunes to an unsuspecting audience. Incorporating numerous collage elements - and very few guitar strings - Honeysuckle Tendrals weaves in and out of song in a spacey wash of psychedelic imagery by way of nursery rhymes and fairytales.

Owing influence to writers like Lewis Carroll, and filmmakers like Herzog and Lynch, as much as any musical influence, Carls music can have something of a cinematic feel. Though perhaps best classified under the floppy umbrella of 'Outsider' music, Honeysuckle Tendrals displays remarkably complex arrangements utilizing a staggeringly simple arsenal of instruments: a broken guitar, sound collage, and heavily layered vocal tracks filtered through an array of effects. Think Peter Grudzien reading mother goose, The Cheshire Cat conducting the Langley School Music Project, or Bob Dylan singing singing unknown lullabies with a head full of helium. 2009 marks the 10th year anniversary of the recording of Honeysuckle Tendrals, and we at Sacred Bones are proud to give it a proper audience after so many years. The LP is an edited and slightly resequenced presentation; carefully curated, remastered for vinyl, and housed in a handmade jacket in the Folkways tradition. It includes a bonus 7'EP including two alternate takes from the LP and two outstanding, and completely exclusive non-album tracks. The CD version contains the album in its complete form.

We hope you enjoy it as much as do.' - Sacred Bones. Artist: Title: Honeysuckle Tendrals Format: CD Label: Country: USA Price: $10.00 'Honeysuckle Tendrals is a lost recording.

We hope you enjoy it as much as do.'

- Sacred Bones. Artist: Title: Howlin Gang Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Slug Guts hail from the baron, heat stricken confines of Brisbane, Australia, a town as desolate as it is depressing and suburban.

Slug Guts began when four degenerates had little else to do but form a band in the tradition of Pussy Galore, X (Australia not LA), and Birthday Party. In the first four months of the band Slug Guts recorded their first LP Down on the Meat which was released on Stained Circles Records (Jay Reatard, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Dirtbombs). After numerous Australian tours and one Japanese tour playing alongside Lightning Bolt, Dead Meadow, Primitive Calculators, Flipper, and Eddy Current amongst others, the band went back into the studio and recorded this thirteen-song sophomore album, Howlin Gang. The LP was recorded in a railway carriage on the outskirts of Ipswich. Taking partial influence from Christian Death, The Scientists and The Triffids, this new LP sought to take a different direction than the harsh swamp rock which characterized their first release. Howlin Gang LP features a duet with Angela Bermuda (Circle Pit) and guest appearances by Sarah Spencer (Blank Realm). Slug Guts will embark on their first US tour in March of 2011 including the Sacred Bones showcase at SXSW.'

Artist: Title: Playing in Time with the Deadbeat Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $18.00 'Playing in Time with the Deadbeat is Slug Guts third LP and the follow up to 2011s critically acclaimed Howlin Gang (SBR-046). Playing in Time sounds menacingly desperate, ugly and malnourished. This album draws on Australias rough and agitated pub rock history, taking dregs from Australian cult icons Feedtime and Venom P Stinger. Playing in Time with the Deadbeat was written during a year which saw members of this seven piece endure trips to the mental hospital, jail, court trials, death, rehab, and bouts of violence following thousands of kilometers spent in a van. From the cacophonous gallop of opening track Scum, to the hit single potential of Adult Living, it is clear the band, have grown heaps here as both writers and players. Despite personal setbacks and numerous tragedies, Playing in Time with the Deadbeat is the definitive Slug Guts album to date; it is a focused, damaged and unique opus.

Artist: Title: The Original 14-Track Single Containing The Hit Album, Plus The Musical Too Young To Be Ideal Format: CD Label: Country: Japan Price: $17.50. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: We Know Nonsense Format: CD Label: Country: Japan Price: $19.00 Lovingly assembled and beautifully produced career-spanning recordings by this late 70s/early 80s UK DIY super group. The main instigator behind the Americans was Andrew Giblet Brenner who assembled a loose, disparate group of musical/non-musical practitioners as an experiment in equality and democracy.

This democracy included Nag, Bendle and Else Watt of Door And The Window, David Toop, Steve Beresford and Max Eastley (coming out of the anything goes improv scene), Viv Albertine of the Slits, Vivien Goldman (who was simultaneously recording the classic dub/funk/punk Dirty Washing 12' on 99 Records which featured Beresford as well as Keith Levine, George Oban, Robert Wyatt, Adrian Sherwood and others), Igor (Nag & Bendles roommate), parents of the members and many more. The sound over the course of their career started off as rugged Door And The Window-ish songs/pieces on the first single but by the 1st LP and 12' evolved into an off-kilter songwriting style similar to that of Maher Shalal Hash Baz (Tori Kudo actually contributes liner notes which are unfortunately just in Japanese), Red Crayola, early Beat Happening, Good Missionaries and lesser knowns like Department Store Santas, Mark Tucker, Philip Johnson, etc. By We Know Nonsense many songs have an almost lounge jazz style. This probably doesnt sound too appealing but the record does have its moments, including one of my fave 49 American songs (though some of the tracks are definitely not my bag). The The Original 14-Track Single. CD compiles the 1979 Wonder Only 85 Pennies 7' on N.B. Records (Nag & Bendles label) and the 1981, 10 track 12' on Choo Choo Train Records as well as 6 bonus tracks from 1979.

Wonder includes the 1st LP from 1980 (originally on Choo Choo Train) plus 7 tracks from their first live gig at the London Musicians Collective in 1980. We Know Nonsense is the second full length from 1982 (co-released originally by Choo Choo Train and Toops semi-legendary Quartz label) plus 3 bonus tracks from 81 featuring Nigel Coombes on violin. Packaged in thick miniature old LP style jackets with extensive liner notes and lyrics (in japanese and english). 'What might seem to others to be harsh reviews were to us wonderful complimentary fodder; swamped in kettle and saucepan percussion, a hearty shabbiness, amateurism viewed as a material virtue rather than a spiritual one, and the best quote of all, makes Swell Maps sound like Led Zeppelin.' - Nag (Wonder liner notes).

'The 49 Americans were an experiment in the pursuit of happiness. Everyone should be allowed to be an American.'

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: s/t Format: CDR Label: Country: Finland Price: $8.00 Limited tour CDR from member of Avarus, Islaja, etc. Artist: Title: En El Maravilloso Mundo de Ingeson Format: Book/CD Label: Country: Colombia Price: $45.00 'Authorized reissue of this Colombian psych reissue from 1968, in deluxe oversized packaging. One of the best South American reissues we have heard. As wonderful as can be.

Thats how this release made in Colombia is to us. You surely know this legendary psychedelic album, recorded in 1968 and never yet officially reissued until now. Musically, the album is as psychedelic as you may dream from a South American 68 album. With acid guitar, sound effects, playing with repetitive sounds and incisive lyrics in Spanish. A total masterpiece of weird psychedelia that went nearly unnoticed in Colombia even though The Speakers were the biggest name in that countrys rock scene in the 60s. What makes this release even better is the deluxe treatment it had. Fantastic remastered sound, a 20cmx20cm CD cover including a 20-page full color booklet (20x20 too!), and even a replica of the supposed LSD bubblegum that was included in the original album, had you ever heard of that?!?!?'

Founded in Kyoto in 1978 by chief editor of Rock Magazine, Agi Yuzuru, this label has a short but very interesting production. Only 10 long play albums, 3 7' singles, one double compilation, and few cassettes were recorded between 1978 and 1980. Some flexi discs were given with Rock Magazine issues during 1980. For this LP, the last on Say Day-Bew, they play piano, clavichord, harpichord, and Folgerphone (an instrument of their own design using an alto sax mouthpiece with copper tubing and a coffee can) in a very avant-garde style. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Canaxis 5 Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $20.00 'The project name for a one-off collaboration between Cans bass player Holger Czukay and the painter Rolf Dammers. Canaxis 5 (1969) was an early attempt at manipulating ethnic music (World music), in many ways predating the discreet background music of certain ambient Brian Eno albums. The album was made using tape loops from traditional Vietnamese music to create some kind of acoustic sound painting.

The result was a strange sound milage. It contained only two tracks: 'Boat-Woman-Song' and 'Canaxis'. Few ordinary instruments were in use, only Holgers bass can be heard occasionally. Nowadays, this album is nothing more than a curiosity, documenting the ambient music in its early childhood. Czukays tape editing skills steadily improved through the years - as proved by the mid-period Can albums and even more so on his solo albums.'

- Mutantsounds. 'One of the earliest and rarest Krautrock albums ever, this was recorded in 1968 by Holger Czukay of CAN fame, and released the next year on the tiny Music Factory label in a pressing of only 500 copies.

With just one long track on each side, this faithful reissue features all the original artwork.' - Scheisshouse. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Hallo Milk Format: CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $14.00 'The No-Neck Blues Band presents the music of Embryo in anticipation of collaborative double LP to be released by De Stijl in September. Embryo is the longest running of the German underground collectives, formed by Christian Burchard after he left Amon Duul 2 in 1969.

'Bremen 1971' and 'Father, Son, and Holy Ghost' (1972) present the band at their peak period of Kraut - jazz -psych exploration, with 'Father' being one of the peak records of its genre. 'Live' (1976) has Embryo at a weaker point, caught in a 'Bitches Brew'-obsessed fusion era that would soon be abandoned by Burchard and company for Eastern leanings. 'Reise' (1978) and '(La Blama Sparozzi)' (1980) are pinnacle acheivements of their kind, presenting Embryos progressive sound combined with that of the indiginous musicians they encountered while caravan traveling throughout Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and India. 'Hallo Mik' (2003) lets you hear what Embryo is up to now, which is a sort of hybrid cache of ethnicities, a world music for savants, and features Chris Karrer and Deiter Serfas of Amon Duul 2 and Lothar Stahl of Checkpoint Charlie, among others. A warning for the wise: those with a low tolerance for ethno-jazz best not venture past 72, and then wait for the NNCK collabo record which we understand minimizes the funk.' The two artists are touring together for the first half of June 2011.' Artist: Title: Sociophonic Key (from the Sun Ra / El Saturn Archives) Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $6.00 'When BRIAN HARNETTY was commissioned to work with the Sun Ra/El Saturn archives in Chicago, his goal was to develop a series of conversations with SUN RA through the many recordings in the collection. On one level, the resulting pieces combine these diverse materials to create a sonic collage. On another level, Harnetty uses these elements to reveal multi-layered stories, drawing out the many connections and complexities of the Sun Ra archives. For this 7-inch single, entitled 'The Sociophonic Key,' Harnetty has created a stand-alone work drawn from 'The Star Faced One,' a 2010 sound installation at the Experimental Sound Studio in Chicago.

Despite the variety of samples used many subtle relationships are heard--both literal and fantastic--from Sun Ra rehearsing a group of children fading into an answering machine, to the intensity of a gospel preacher alongside the Arkestras invitation to join them in outer space. Edition of 500 copies.' Artist: Title: Hired Hand OST Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $25.00 'BRUCE LANGHORNE, one of the most in-demand session guitarists of the 60s, is probably best known for playing on several of Bob Dylans best records, including Bringing It All Back Home and Blonde on Blonde.

He actually played with just about everybody in the late 60s folk-rock universe-Fred Neil, Joan Baez, Tom Rush, John Sebastian, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Odetta, Richie Havens and others. Langhorne performed live with Dylan at Newport, produced records for Ramblin Jack Elliott and was the real-life inspiration for 'Mr. Tamborine Man.' His crowning achievement however may be the soundtrack he composed for Peter Fondas directorial debut, The Hired Hand.

Surprisingly, for such a seasoned veteran of the booming folk scene, this was Langhornes first solo record. Recorded in the garage of his Laurel Canyon home in 1969 using an Echoplex and a two-track Revox tape machine, the album features an assortment of period instruments from the old west-fiddle, dulcimer, recorder, banjo, upright piano, harmonica and Langhornes National steel string guitar. The spacey, hypnotizing score was a perfect match for Fondas atmospheric western and along with Vilmos Zigmonds stunning cinematography and some top-notch performances from Warren Oates, Verna Bloom and poet Michael McClure, heavily contributed to the films underground success. The movie was part of Universals 'semi-independent series in which the studio, hoping to score the next Easy Rider, turned five young filmmakers loose equipped with small budgets and complete artistic control. Sadly, The Hired Hand didnt go over so well with mainstream audiences (although American Graffiti, another Universal 'semi-independent' feature, certainly did).

Nevertheless, both the film and Langhornes score have lived on as cult classics. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl in an edition of 1,000 copies.'

Artist: Title: Adam Bohman with Dylan Nyoukis & Friends Format: Cass Label: Country: USA Price: $7.00 'Adam Bohman is a member of Morphogenesis and The London Improvisors Orchestra.

He also regularly performs alongside his brother Jonathan under the guise The Bohman Brothers. Their sound art oscillates between states of the absurd and (sonically) grotesque to highly articulate explorations of extra-musical sound. Electroacoustic music and free-improvisation could be regarded as co-ordinates on the grid. However, unlike the hermeticism of electro-acoustic music or the purism of free-improvisation, the Bohmans freely quote from any source and arent afraid to show it. So you get Varesesian sound montage supporting spoken word material sourced from a pub menu, or frenetic juxtapositions between amplified shoe brushes and a frenzied tape cut-up of 17th Century instruments. The Bohman aesthetic can be a dense and tangled thing to unpick and describe.

Various and nefarious sounds and artistic influences merge and collide. Dylan Nyoukis work exists on the fringe of contemporary avant garde art and underground DIY insurrection.' - David Keenan, Glasgow, June 2009 Artist: Title: Mugwort and Sage Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $16.00 'Through the standard haze, the Band unfurls as rolling percussion and mumbled verses, an explosion which may never happen, peering beyond the anti-rock of Sightings to the post-ism of Bitch Magnet of old with contemplative guitar lines and highly motile drumming.

Formed in Wellington in 2003, the group is known for its noisy guitar soundscapes and improvisational take on psychedelic rock music. Most often, Clover plays bass, Milton sings and plays electric guitar, and Kirk plays drums, though the group are known to expand their instrumental palette using synthesizers, field recordings, electronics, and guest musicians. With a laundry list of individual accomplishments preceding them, The Stumps bring high expectations. Theyve been compared to such seminal acts as The Dead C, Guru Guru, Acid Mothers Temple, Fushitusha, Les Rallizes Denudes, Sun Ra and the Velvet Underground, but these Kiwis have their own twist in their psychedelic cosmic explorations.

They are robust and powerful; an exciting and often overwhelming listening experience. Itll burn out your eardrums and douse the flames in hot wax. Culled from two performances - a five-hour recording session during Matmoss 96 hours of performances at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and an audio/visual performance with Keith Evans - Wrack Light in Copper Ruin explores the symbiosis of materiality and sound, and its infinite network of metaphors and allegories. Like an abandoned aquarium in which an accidental and incongruous microcosm takes shape, Coelacanths sound illustrates a constant evolution of decay, encroachment, and repossession of the border space between the natural and the man-made. Comparatively, Wrack Light is more delicate than Coelacanths previous recordings, inhabiting a space where artists such as Jonathan Coleclough, Andrew Chalk, Mirror, and MNortham can be found, yet it maintains the mysterious, oceanic nature its name implies.' The sound of South Florida getting kosmische.' -Sebastian Speaks. Artist: Title: Ted Lucas Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $15.00 'The music of Ted Lucas has circulated through CD-Rs and blogs for years now. Although primarily known for this, his 1975 self-titled album (sometimes referred to as The OM Record), a legacy of hundreds of tapes decisively reveal one of the psychedelic eras most criminally-overlooked talents. Lucas studied with Ravi Shankar. He was the 'exotic instruments specialist' for Motown and played sitar on many of their most famous productions. He rubbed shoulders with Alice Cooper and Ted Nugent and every other major player on the Detroit scene.

His pioneering early psych rock bands The Spike Drivers and Misty Wizards managed to become legends with nothing more than a handful of singles. Stanley Mouse, prime image-maker for the Grateful Dead and friend of Ted, adapted the cover for Ted Lucas from his artwork for Jimi Hendrixs unfinished last album. Its the first appearance of the space scarab -- the UFO that would later become Journeys symbol.

From brief, spontaneous ditties, predating the lo-fi indie movement by 20 years, to the epicly psychedelic sitar guitar ragas in Lucas signature loose string tunings, Lucas never wavered from his visceral, intensely honest vision. A self-taught master of many instruments and consummate do-it-yourselfer, Ted created a home studio and worked out new ways to tune his guitars.

The pride he took in his craft and his attention to detail were inspiring and exasperating to all who knew him. His wit was legendary. The reasons for Lucas failure to break out of the Detroit scene would require, and probably deserve, a book-length investigation. His career provides insight on the difficulty of self-publishing and self-promotion in the pre-internet age. Without a doubt, things would have turned out very differently had he come up today. Lucas voice is unspeakably mellow, his guitar unbelievably gentle, and his arrangements absolutely impeccable. Do not miss this album.

Sebastian Speaks Records have compiled these fragments of conversation, childrens pranks, bits of weary monologues, and dramas.

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: People Like You Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $16.00 'Incredibly haunting and lush private press gem from the mid-seventies. Wisconsin singer songwriter John Villemonte may be a native of the Midwest, but this rich album conjures up the same sort of hazy Southern California vibe as David Crosbys If I Could Only Remember My Name. There are some smooth stoned vibes here a la Bread, but with a slightly unsettled edge, especially on tracks like the gorgeous I Am the Moonlight, a song also featured on the Numero Groups stellar Lonesome Heroes compilation.' - Sebastian Speaks. 'This record reminds me of what music made on a perfect evening on the edge of the Hawaiian rain forest, stoked on primo weed and some nice Pinot Noir, might sound like.

Artist: Title: Wasted Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $15.00 'Sebastian Speaks has just completed the reissue of VERNON WRAYs legendary and impossible to find Wasted LP from the early seventies. Its a remarkable country rock record with should-have-been classic songs, tasteful arrangements, and some serious downer moves.

Its got shades of Kristofferson, Hazelwood, and of course the later work of Vernons own brother LINK WRAY. The LP has been completely remastered, and the insert features rare photos of Vernon and some very personal remembrances penned by his daughter SHERRY, who also co-produced this project.' - Sebastian Speaks. Artist: Title: The Hour Is Now Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $14.00 'Collie Ryan privately pressed three albums in the early seventies, Taking Your Turn Round the Corner of Day, Indian Harvest, and The Giving Tree.

The records were funded in part by Collies friends at the New Age Farms carrot and fresh juice company in Lompoc, California and her mesmerizing music remained largely a secret until 'Cricket,' one of the tracks from Indian Harvest, surfaced on the Numero Groups stellar 2006 compilation Ladies From the Canyon. Collies music is almost solely based around her cosmic and birdlike voice and nylon guitar picking, and her lyrics reflect her lifelong study of theosophy and naturalist living. Even today Collie lives largely outside of what would be considered 'regular' society, residing in a converted 1930s school bus in the middle of a Texas desert and painting mandalas on hub cabs, while continuing to produce her very special and personal music. Sebastian Speaks, in association with Douglas McGowan of Yoga Records, is proud to present this compilation The Hour Is Now, culling tracks from her first three lps and presented in a sleeve featuring new front and back paintings by Collie.

The tracks have been completely remastered from the original source tapes by J.D. Artist: Title: Lost and Found 1963-1974 Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $15.00 'TINY TIM: Lost and Found 1963-1974 is a collection of 17 incredibly obscure songs consisting of previously unreleased actetates, privately pressed 45s, and an early 60s studio session that was arranged by MILTON GLASER.

Much of the material on this release was thought to have been lost to time, but after many years of collecting and compiling by Tiny Tim enthusiasts, Secret Seven Records is making it available to a wider audience for the first time. Lost and Found contains tracks from Tinys pre-fame years, recorded between 1963 (When he was still known as DARRY DOVER) and 1966; as well as material from his post-fame years, recorded between 1971 and 1974. Furthermore, the material is unique because they both represent eras of desperation for Tiny Tim. The material from the 1960s represents Tinys years scraping by, performing in dives in Greenwhich Village and living with his parents who had, by 1963, written him off as mentally ill. The material from the early 1970s, recorded while his mainstream career was in its decrescendo, is representative of an time in which the world saw that brightest stars burn out the fastest.

However, it was during these eras of desperation that Tiny recorded some of the best, eclectic, and intriguing material of his career. This limited edition LP includes liner notes by Tiny Tim historian / biographer, JUSTIN A.

Privately released in 1974, Goodby Sunball was recorded at Yonkers home studio a few years after Microminature Love and just before Lovely Gold. 'The music for Goodby Sunball was written during the recovery period following serious spine surgery. The surgery had not gone well, I was laid up for months, and had to learn to walk again.

So, the music was written using an acoustic guitar, while laying in bed. When I was able to be up and around more, I started recording the songs.a little at a time. It took about 7 months.

I recorded the tracks in the little studio I had in my place. It was all recorded on two-channel, tube type machines (back and forth between machines).

The vocals were done in the bathroom, to give an expanded sound.' -Michael Yonkers. Limited to 500 copies.' -Secret Seven.

The group began their activities in 1958, & from the naming of the group in 1960 onward continued until somewhere around 1962.

They attempted to create acoustics corresponding to actual time & space by means of collective improvisation. Although methodically different, the music that they pursued incidentally shared common directions with contemporaries such as John Cage & other involved in the avant-garde artist collective of Fluxus.' - Takako Okamoto, taken from original liner notes. 'Three wild & woolly scrambling tracks that melt nodes.

Dished are dropped, vacuum cleaners get fried, saxes, organs & cellos howl, Group Ongaku were doing it all when the only other cosmic acolyte on the scene was Alan Watts. And these recordings-laid down a couple of years AHEAD of Big Als acid jabber- make This Is It sound like the lysergic soundtrack to Hello Dolly!

By comparison. Concurrently, these primal articulations bear the distinction of sounding like the COMPLETE Nurse With Wound List playing at once. And when you realize that said posse includes Airway, Cromagnon, Don Bradshaw Leather & Throbbing Gristle among its formidable ranks, then one must understand that what is passing between their ears is an aural Excalibur of avant/experimental freakdom that almost no one knew existed. A staggering & crucial lost piece to the ever burgeoning puzzle of the weird.' - Phinneas Barbital, author, Cracks Inside Planet Brain (forthcoming, 2011).

'Those familiar w/Julian Copes seminal Japrocksampler will recognize the name Group Ongaku as the cornerstone of the 32 page entry, 'Experimental Japan. Simply put, this collective was edenic as the foundation of fusing avant classical input with organic, improvisational output, thus forging a singular Minimalist sound on par w/similar, radical outre composition that was taking place in the West at the same time (Cage & Stockhausens work in particular). That members of Group Ongaku would later be instrumental in founding Japans Fluxus movement as well as form the legendary Taj Mahal Travellers seems almost elementary. And while to some these recording might sound archaic, their importance can never be understated or denied. Recorded in 1960 & 61 respectively, these 3 tracks were original 1st released on CD in a small edition in 1996.

Long thought to be impossible to replicate onto vinyl due to time constraints (side 1 is practically 35 minutes in length), new technology in Japanese audio restoration has made it possible for Music Of Group Ongaku to finally see a proper LP release. And the sound is most exhilarating. Personnel is as follows; Takehisa Kosugi (violin, sax, tape), Chieko Shiomi (piano), Mikio Tojima (cello), Yasunao Tone (sax, tape), Genichi Tsuge (guitar), Shukou Mizuno (cello, drums tape).

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: 3/3 Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $48.00 'First reissue of this ultra-obscure pre-no-wave LP, originally released in Japan, 1975.'

'3/3 are Reck (guitar, vocals), Higo Hiroshi (bass) and Chiko Hige (drums). The name was inspired by a Japanese comic (4/4). In February 1975, 3/3 (Sanbun No San) released this album in a tiny pressing of 15 copies only to get a record deal. The cover was homemade and the recording sounds live but without audience.

The music is ultra heavy guitar-dominated psychedelic rock like a mixture of Blue Cheer / Randy Holden/MC5 and early punk/new wave bands. The sound quality is mediocre but the music is a blaster. 3/3 has never released another recording.

Both Reck and Hige then moved to New York where they stayed for over a year and played with James Chance & the Contortions, Lydia Lunch (Teenage Jesus & The Jerks) and others (No New York movement). They returned to Japan in 1978 to start a new group which became very famous: Friction.

In 1979 Friction appeared on a compilation and in 1980 they recorded their first album. Friction released more than 10 albums in Japan. Friction has certainly had a heavy influence on the late 1970s Japanese punk and new wave scene. Reck is again active on the Tokyo scene and has teamed up with Haino Keiji and hardcore drummer Pill, with whom he performs under the name Head Rush. This album of 3/3 is the rarest underground album ever released in Japan.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Silver Trees Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $46.00 'From South Africa, 1970.

Edition of 500 numbered LPs, matte heavy gatefold sleeve, 180 gram pressing. 'The band Abstract Truth existed only for a very short time, but it was a time of super-creativity. They exploded on to the Durban music scene early in 1969, released 2 studio albums during 1970 on EMI, which we have here. The 3rd album Cool Sounds For Heads is only a compilation of these 2 LPs. Henson on guitar & vocals / Peter Measroch on piano, organ, flute, harpsichord & vocals / George Wolfaardt on bass, flute, drums & vocals / Sean Bergin on sax & flute.

Silver Trees is a milestone in South African music among bands like Freedoms Children, Astra and Third Eye. Musically it follows the same routes as UK bands like Bloodwin Pig, Traffic, Spooky Tooth and many others. Progressive underground of the best kind, with organ, guitars, flutes, sax and great vocals, sometimes with Zappa-style guitar solos.' -Shadoks Artist: Title: Totum Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $46.00 'From South Africa, 1970.

Edition of 500 numbered LPs, glossy heavy sleeve, 180 gram pressing. 'Ken E Henson on guitar, vocals and sitar / Robbie Pavid on percussion / Brian Gibson on bass & vocals / Sean Bergin on sax & flute. Excellent early 70s melodic wistful freak-rock, blended with African sounds featuring assorted instruments: keyboards, flutes, electric guitars, saxophone, percussion, etc. A refreshing approach with an Eastern touch. If you like UK bands such as Quintessence, If and Blodwin Pig, this album goes in the same direction.

It is more trippy/stoned and acoustic than the Silver Trees album.' -Shadoks Artist: Title: The Dawn Wind Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $45.00 First reissue of a very obscure Japanese private press folk album from 1973. Deluxe gatefold reproduction of the original sleeve, usual lavish Shadoks treatment. Edition of 350 copies.

The Australian artist Paul Adolphus recorded the album in Kyoto/Japan, playing guitar, vocals, flutes, shakuhachi. Totally vibed-out 'personal' folk-psych. 'My first visit to Japan was in 1968 after living in India and Sri Lanka. My wife at the time arrived in Kyoto, and had our first child there. We really loved it. We returned to Sweden then went back to Kyoto and had our second child there.

We lived in a two hundred year old farm house in a village outside Kyoto. It was a great scene at the time.

Japanese artists, bohemians, and visiting foreigners making art music poetry etc. I was playing music with different people, then developed a musical relationship with Mitsu Harada. We did concerts and toured to other cities in Japan together.

Before leaving Japan Mitsu organised to record the album together. Mitsus father was the grand master of a calligraphy school. In a large room in the school Mitsu set up mikes and a big stereo recorder consul. Most of the playing was by Mitsu and myself, an American friend played a little guitar and percussion to fill some holes. A group of friends sat around, so it was a bit of a living room concert feel. It was my material, Mitsu engineered as well as playing.

I think there were 200 copies pressed, the covers were hand made, so it was released into the small arts community of Kyoto and Tokyo. Not long after the recording I travelled with the family to Australia, I had been away from here for a decade.

I worked on a lot of projects here, composing for theatre and dance. I had a group called Living Music - an African drummer, Indian tabla, didjeridoo, winds etc. It was early days, not too many people were ready for world music.' Shadoks: 'Incredibly rare and sought-after mellow folk album with beautiful songs and harmonies, like a Japanese version of Extradition.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Edip Akbayram Format: Double CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $18.50 'Edip Akbayram is the top of the BIG three of Turkish delights (Erkin Koray, Baris Mancho & Edip). The best psych tracks from his first two albums and many singles (like in the other Shadoks release of Erkin Koray), 22 tracks, 90- minutes of music.

His band Dostlar formed the songs into something which takes you on an Eastern trip, full of fuzz guitar, electric sax and great percussions. Edips dark voice make you shiver and you feel like dancing right away. This is as good as Erkin Koray with a deep spirit and very political words. One of the best albums we have released the past three or four years.'

Artist: Title: Africa Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $46.00 'From Zambia, Africa, 1975. Glossy heavy sleeve, 180 gram pressing. Amanaz was formed in 1973. Three songs are in the native language Bemba, and 9 songs in English, recorded in Kitwe, the 3rd biggest city in Zambia up north. Musically, it goes in the same direction as Blo, The Witch and Question Mark, but this album is way cooler and stoned with an amazing fuzz guitar all over which sounds like an African version of early Cream.

The cover makes it look very traditional but after a few spins, you are aware that this one is very special. Its so cool, so tightly-produced and easily compares with UK underground albums with a touch of African beats. Still completely unknown, so this album has not been scored yet by the collectors scene. A real surprise.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Deaf Priscilla Format: CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $16.00 'Here is one of the best albums we ever laid our hands on. Perhaps better than Public Nuisance and as good as Brain Police from Rockadelic. This album is a milestone such as Cold Suns Dark Shadow.

Not one track is losing energy (and there are 14 great ones). The album was recorded in April 1968 at Western Sound Recorders L.A. For a famous surf label, but was never released. Songs such as: Loneliness Is A Sometime Thing, Dead Woman Blues and Deaf Priscilla are outstanding but as highlights of this album we would vote all 14 tracks. Just perfect vocals, tons of fuzz guitar and tough lyrics. We will love this album forever.' Artist: Title: Chapter One Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $45.00 New LP version (previously issued by Parallel World, what seems like a millions years ago) in very deluxe package.

Has never been on CD, so your only chance to hear this South African classic from 1972, and one of the better Shadoks efforts. 'For the first time BLO comes out with the original gatefold sleeve.

This band from Nigeria became very famous among collectors worldwide. Perhaps this is the most sought after album from Africa. The 3 members, Berkely Jones, Laolu Akintobi and Mike Odumosu created the name BLO from B for Berkely, L for Laolu and O for Odumosu.

2 members toured with Ginger Baker in 1972 and BLO supported Osibisa on tour in Nigeria. At that time BLO was voted as the best band in Nigeria.

So finally its out. Enjoy this amazing Underground album with African beats.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Blops Format: 3 LP Box Set Label: Country: Germany Price: $74.00 'This box starts a series of several releases in the near future: all releases of one band in one box, all with the original covers. Blops made 3 albums in Chile, all incredibly rare. The music is most beautiful. If you think you like El Congreso, you love Kissing Spell and Embrujo you will adore the music of the Blops.

The first album from 1970 is pure underground folk with some electric moments, the second from 1971 becomes more electric still with most touching songs which makes you shiver and the third album from 1973 is complete electric and psychedelic with a progressive touch. Members of Kissing Spell + Embrujo (which will be released as a box-set too in the near future) became later members of Blops. The music from underground in Chile is well-known for perhaps the best music in whole South America. The Pacific coast, the influence of Indio music and the tough political pressure in 1973 makes this music so special.

A real masterpiece.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Blops Format: 3CD Box Set Label: Country: Germany Price: $55.00 'This is a 3CD compilation of the rare and beautiful complete works of Chile-based Blops. If you think you like El Congreso, if you love Kissing Spell and Embrujo, you will adore the music of Blops. The first album from 1970 is pure underground folk with some electric moments, the second from 1971 becomes more electric with touching songs which make you shiver and the third album from 1973 is completely electric and psychedelic with a progressive touch. Los Blops formed in 1970 when Eduardo Gatti (vocals and guitars), Julio Villalobos (guitars), Pedro Greene (drums), Andres Orrego (keyboards) and Juan Pablo Orrego (bass) performed covers (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Animals, Cream, Kinks) in a local club in Isla Negra, with additional changes in the band with the addition of members Sergio Bezard (drums) and Juan Contreras (flute and keyboards). Their first LP was recorded in 12 hours on a two-track machine and produced by DICAP (Discoteca Del Cantar Popular De Las Juventudes Comunistas), a label that was affiliated with Communist youth, whose tapes were later destroyed by the military. Their first concert at the Marconi Theatre showcased their own material and was recorded by a television crew.

Their first LP includes a song that became a hymn that generations would continue to sing, 'Los Momentos.' The LP version of this box sold out quickly, and here is the CD version of it in a beautifully laminated heavy book-box, with 3CDs in jewel cases containing two non-LP extra tracks, limited to 1000 copies.' Artist: Title: Hits Internacionales Format: LP + 7' Label: Country: Germany Price: $48.00 'Along with Kaleidoscope and Los Ovnis, this is the rarest of all Mexican psychedelic albums. Bodo Molitor recorded this album for Orfeon records, Mexico, as label mates of Kaleidoscope. Bodo created the famous cover for Kaleidoscope and several other covers for this album.

Hits Internacionales was recorded in 1968 and released in 1969. Bodo was born in Germany and traveled all over the world playing music. Included here are cover versions, some of his own compositions, and an extra 4-track EP of amazing, unheard tracks. An ultra-rare original of this late 60s Mexican garage psych album is a Holy Grail for collectors, in the same league with Mexicos Kaleidoscope.

After this release, Bodo left Mexico to travel the world playing with great musicians. He now lives and plays music in Cairo, Egypt, rocking the center of the Islamic world. 500 numbered/heavy sleeve/insert/180 gram pressing; the bonus 7' is on red vinyl.' -Shadoks Artist: Title: 2 Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $44.00 500 numbered LP, heavy sleeve, 180 gram pressing, with insert.

'BUMP 2 (the unreleased second album) was recorded in 1971, just a year later after the debut album, also on Pioneer Records and also produced by Gary A. Paul Lupien - organ / George Runyan - bass, vocals / Alan Goldman - guitar / Jerome Charles Greenberg - drums, recorded 8 great tracks which never came out so far. We could even use the original artwork. This is a fantastic prog / psychedelic monster LP, a mixture of dreamy organ psych with heavy fuzz bluster, very much like CA Quintet. Ghostly swirly organs, burning rough guitars, sound effects, fuzz/wahwah guitars, trippy lysergic vocals and great melodies. A killer album from start to end.'

Artist: Title: Day Format: CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $15.00 'Day was originally released in 1971. Besides Parameter, this is the rarest release on U.K. Deroy label, as rare as Forever Amber & Dark.

If youre into Tony, Caro & John and Then Play On -era Fleetwood Mac, then this is your cup of tea. This is pure Underground with that bluesy Peter Green -like guitar and a folky edge.

All original songs and all beauties. Heavy fuzz-guitar, piano, effects -- the whole U.K. Underground thing. A killer album from beginning to the end.:' - Shadoks. Artist: Title: S/T Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $48.00 'Numbered edition of 500 copies on 180 gram vinyl; glossy sleeve with insert. 'Many people watching the ebay auctions were surprised seeing this album selling for nearly 3500 Euro each. Before that, this album was completely unknown.

Captain Marry are from Glasgow, Scotland and recorded this demo album in 1974, released in a tiny pressing on the Thor label, hopefully to get a EMI or Chrysalis deal. They wanted to record only a single but came up with a complete album of self-composed tracks. Since it was not that easy for a Scottish band to get attention down in London, this album was the only pressing ever done and sold at band gigs only. 5 musicians, great organ, vocals, extra heavy fuzz-guitar, drums and bass; amazing underground songs, influenced by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Beggars Opera, a true lost classic. We were lucky to find the band to made a deal so this beauty can conquer the world of rock music.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: s/t Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $44.00 500 numbered, heavy sleeve, 180 gram pressing, with 1 page insert. 'Here is a great surprise for us.

An unknown UK album with such a great musical potential. Musically it is a very powerful guitar dominated underground rock such as Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Dark or Grannie. The rarity factor is way above all those other rare UK albums, which stay in low pressings of 99 copies and 15-20 such as Dark.

This one has been pressed only 4 times ever. In September 1971 Eugene Carnan entered a UK-wide competition for Best New Band run by the famous Melody Maker magazine, they recorded the album in 1972 and took it to London to Eden Studios for a demo pressing and cut 4 acetates. Eugene Carnan a 3 piece band are from Sheffield, UK with guitar & vocals, bass and drums. All own composition. A killer album from beginning to end.' Artist: Title: Eagle Death Format: CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $18.00 'Shadoks Music presents the unknown album which became famous in the collectors scene because of two recorded singles, which count among the best underground progressive music you can hear from Spain: Cerebrum.

They recorded more songs which are completely unknown. So, for the first time on CD, the complete album from this legendary Spanish underground band includes a long version of the title track 'Eagle Death.'

This album is for Shadoks the best they can do when it comes to massive detective work and patience, heart and soul and enthusiasm to explore and release an amazing unheard album such as this one. You will love it as much as they do.' Artist: Title: Eagle Death Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $44.00 'The unknown album which became famous in the collectors scene because of two recorded singles, which is the best underground progressive music you can hear from Spain: Cerebrum. -Shadoks Artist: Title: & His Friends Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $45.00 '450 numbered copies, heavy vinyl, insert, heavy gatefold cover. This is Shinki Chens solo album (from Speed Glue & Shinki). So rare and so good. Extra heavyfuzzguitar all over, songs about drugs & girls, if this was sung in Japanese they would have banned it. The ultimate Psych album from Japan.'

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: s/t Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $44.00 'Originally released in Mexico, 1969. Numbered edition of 500 pressed on 180 gram vinyl, housed in a heavy sleeve with a poster and 4-page insert containing an extra poster. 'Kaleidoscope is one of best psychedelic albums ever been recorded and among the other 2 rare albums (Mariani from USA and Dark from UK) perhaps the rarest. Enrique Rivas located all original members as well as the original artist of the cover. Shadoks Music signed a deal with the band, so we can put this baby out for the first time legit.

Actually this band was not from Mexico. The musicians came from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Spain and the album was recorded in 1967 in Dominican Republic. The manager took it to Mexico where it had a tiny release of 200 on the Orfeon label. They were friends of Addib Casta from Ladies WC, Venezuela, so one song is from Ladies WC; the rest are all original compositions. A collectors dream come true. The music is amazing heavy guitar-based psychedelic of the best kind, the cover artwork restored and complete (bootlegs were heavily cropped) with original label artwork for the first time, plus many photos, band history, 2 posters.

We are proud to have this baby on our label. Please enjoy!'

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: S/T Format: CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $18.00 'Kaleidoscopes sole release is one of the best psychedelic albums ever recorded and also among the rarest albums of all time. Enrique Rivas located all the original band members as well as the original cover artist. Shadoks Music signed a deal with the band, and now puts this baby out legitimately for the first time, ever. The band was not actually from Mexico: the musicians came from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Spain, and the album was recorded in 1967 in the Dominican Republic.

The manager took it to Mexico where it had a tiny release of 200 copies on the Orfeon label. They were friends with Addib Casta from Ladies WC, Venezuela, so one song is by Ladies WC -- the rest are all original compositions. The music features some amazing, heavy, guitar-based psychedelia of the best kind, and there are three bonus tracks here, including a live track from 1969. The cover art has also been completely restored (bootleg versions were heavily cropped) with the original label artwork for the first time.

The package also includes many photos and a band history, making this a collectors dream come true.' -Shadoks Artist: Title: Apache/Inca Format: Double CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $19.00 Restock of 1999 reissue; the original LP recently sold on eBay for over $10,000.

Famously included in Paul Majors 'Top Five of Weird Underground Psych/Folk', as revealed in Vice magazine. 'First CD reissue of this strange late 60s set of artifacts (previously reissued as an elaborate 2LP set on Little Indians). This record is in Paul Majors 'Top Five of Weird Underground Psych/Folk', as revealed in Vice magazine.' 'California deep Psychedelic loner.

Acid leads, mystical vocals, tons of effects, completely stoned feeling. Came out as 2 single albums and even more limited as a double album. Only 3 copies known.

The music is outta space psychedelic with great songs and beautiful vocals. A real killer from beginning to end.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Martha By Kamijo Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $42.00 'Since this record appeared in Hans Pokoras 3001 book most collectors (including those in Japan) were searching for this album with no luck. So now its the time to solve another mystery. Beside the other unknown album shown in the same book '3/3' (who will be also out next year on Shadoks) Martha is the one everybody was talking about. What is it, somebody seen it, it must be so rare, is it any good?

This album came to us in a big deal (the guy who owned it wanted $7000 cash for it). Martha is the first of three albums composed by the Japanese artist Kamijo. The other two are TOMO (also incredibly rare) and Tomoaki Kamijo KK Band -- dear my friend (pretty too). But Martha is the best of them all.

All English vocals, lots of fuzz guitar, percussion, piano and great vocals. An underground-rock album with folky elements and a west coast touch. Kamijo is the Mick Stevens of Japan.you need a gun.I need a son. Five musicians, 10 great songs.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Los Pajaros Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $42.00 'Beside BLO and El Congreso, this is the best album from Chile and the rarest one. Beautiful compositions and well-crafted songs sung in English and Spanish. Kissing Spell was born in 1967.

One night after a gig they said: No more fucking other peoples music, it is time for something new, created by us and for people who want to see us and not some fucking Beatle clone. Kissing Spell was seen as a very elite group who played very few times for large audiences, and consequently the records did not sell much. After Kissing Spell the same band became Embrujo, which is the Spanish translation for Spell and recorded another album in 1971. A true masterpiece.' #d edition of 550 copies. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Hippies Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $44.00 Numbered edition of 500; heavy sleeve; 180 gram pressing; includes two double-sided inserts and one poster. 'When we are talking about really rare and great albums from Mexico, such as El Tarro de Mostaza, Kaleidoscope etc.

Los Ovnis Hippies is perhaps the second rarest one right after Kaleidoscope. The band already made four LPs with cover songs for the same label.

The 1968 Summer of Love and the political protest of the young rebel culture created the desire to produce a stronger album with own songs, heavier garage sounds and counter-culture lyrics. This album became something the Mexican society in 1968 was not ready for. It was too idealistic and too psychedelic to become popular and the original label released it with no promotion at all. Thats why this album became so good and so rare. Los Ovins are five musicians from Mexico City.

Strong garage songs, great Spanish vocals, amazing guitars, organ and rough sounds. Like a musical punch right in the face of the Mexican middle-class society.

No more nice guys.' Artist: Title: Im Only One Man Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $44.00 'Micah is a very little-known American underground rock band from the early 70s. Their music is a great blend of American hard/psychedelic rock style and British art/symphonic rock. Im Only One Man was created as a suite, each track goes into the next one, very well composed and played on an immense high standard with great Hammond organ, amazing fuzz guitars, powerful drums, driven bass lines and great vocals. This album you would expect from a major release on labels such as Epic/CBS. Micah is Gary Ohlson on organ and vocals, George Wolff on percussion and vocals, Martin Horne on lead guitar, Gus Hernandez on bass, and Bob Rowe on lead vocals.

If you like the early albums of Quatermass, If, Cressida, Beggars Opera, Arcadium and Deep Purple you will love this one. It is way more sophisticated than other major label releases of the same period.

This album makes the fuzz guitar aficionados happy as well as those into great Hammond sounds. Extra cool, extra heavy, extra psychedelic with a progressive touch. 500 numbered copies with insert; heavy sleeve; 180 gram pressing.' SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Brush!? Format: CD Label: Country: Germany Price: $16.00 'This is Masayoshi Takanakas (pre-Flied Egg) first-ever recording, originally released in 1971 as a tiny private pressing in Japan, also one of the great collectors unsolved mysteries, appearing in Hans Pokoras book, 3001 Record Collector Dreams. Its so rare that it took nearly two years to locate the material. The music is West Coast-oriented hard psych with a progressive touch - all original material and really well-produced.

This is a concept album like Spooky Tooth/Pierre Henrys Ceremony, and a true hippie undertaking by Takanaka, Hitoki Goto, Michio Ara, Tushio Tsukagishi, Toru Hatano and Takefumi Yoshida - an album where many musicians of the Japanese underground scene were involved. In Japan this album is also known as Escape. First-ever CD jewel case edition with 20-page booklet.'

- Shadoks Music. Artist: Title: Through You Format: LP Label: Country: Germany Price: $43.00 'The Contents Are was one of many sixties bands from the Quad Citys fertile garage music scene. With labels/studios like Fredlo and IGL, it was a very healthy regional area for bands with an unusually high per capita for record releases. Up until the recent discovery of an original copy a couple years ago, it was only rumored to exist and remained an enigma with hardcore record collectors.

In most cases, the Contents Are were only known by astute collectors for their two excellent 45 releases (non-LP). Well the mystery is over, and heres your chance to hear one of the rarest & greatest garage records ever recorded. Heres the story about the record: Four high school seniors from Iowa decide to release an album of all original tunes, and was exclusively sold at their live shows.

Originally released on the Rok label (a subsidiary of the already obscure Fredlo label) in 1967 with only 100 copies pressed. These guys were not your typical garage band?

Talented players, professional grade vocalists and no cover songs!!! English And American Literature Michael Meyer Pdf. Their music is a nice blend of garage rock with hints of hipster folk and early psychedelic influences. As good if not better as other similar top shelf rarities like Mystery Meat and the Bachs, but no major quantity find making original copies of the Contents Are ten times rarer. Get it or miss it! LP 450 numbered/glossy heavy sleeve/180 gram pressing/insert.'

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Desert Rain Format: 10' Label: Country: UK Price: $24.00 'Shagrat Records is delighted to announce the release of a 3-track 10' EP by the short-lived Darrow Mosley Band, cut in 1973. The band was a vehicle for the prodigious talents of Bob Mosley (lead vocals, bass guitar) and Chris Darrow (lead vocals, guitar) -- Mosley had been an integral member of Moby Grape, one of the greatest California bands of the late 60s. Darrow had been a founding member of Kaleidoscope, the hugely talented Clairemont-based quintet that subsequently has been recognised as one of the first rock groups to play world music. SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Mariachi Riff Live And Free Music Format: LP Label: Country: UK Price: $27.00 'Second archival release in one year by this fabled late 60s band, featuring Bruce Barthol -- ex-Country Joe & the Fish.

Formed in Croydon, Surrey, UK in 1969 by Barthol and two mates from Berkeley, California, Gary Peterson and Phil Greenberg, Formerly Fat Harry were managed by the legendary Blackhill Enterprises (Peter Jenner and Andrew King, original managers of the Floyd) -- they played many gigs in the UK before their demise in 1972, such as two of the Hyde Park free concerts, Phun City, and the 1970 Bath Festival, as well as many college and club gigs. The bands one and only eponymous LP on Harvest Records didnt really reflect their true capabilities (Hux released a far more interesting selection of material from the groups own archive early this year Goodbye For Good) -- a fabulous mix of country, blues and psychedelia. This Shagrat LP reflects another side of the band -- FFH could also be very experimental, playing in odd time signatures and they were completed by a series of the greatest UK jazz drummers -- Laurie Allan, Alan Jackson and John Marshall.

Side two of this limited edition 500-only vinyl LP features two free music tracks recorded in 1969 -- something the band rarely did live. Side one features a 24-minute version of their much-loved favorite Mariachi Riff, which has been favorably compared to the best live work by both the Grateful Dead and Quicksilver Messenger Service -- an epic acid-rock tour de force. It was recorded live at Aylesbury Friars in December 1970. The original tapes have been digitally transferred and mastered by Ron Geesin. Packaged in a beautifully mind-blowing sleeve by legendary British psychedelic designer Mike McInnerney (who designed the sleeve for The Whos Tommy), the LP comes with a nice insert with photos, gig adverts from the era and an evocative essay about the band by long-time fan, Colin Hill. Limited run of 500 copies.'

-Shagrat Artist: Title: Sighs, Whales & Trees Format: LP Label: Country: UK Price: $12.00 Featuring Richard Treece of 70s UK rural rockers, Help Yourself. Mid 90s recordings. Edition of 500.

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Waiting For the Moon Format: 7' Label: Country: UK Price: $24.00 'Hugely obscure, Horace grew out of some informal hash jams that guitarist/bass player Jim Mercer and drummer Ric Parnell held in the autumn of 1970. The music has a strong bucolic yet at times experimental feel to it, conjuring up comparisons with Traffic, Caravan, Frank Zappas seminal Hot Rats album, and the more pastoral moments of early Stackridge.

Ric Parnell, perhaps best known for his role as the spontaneously combusting drummer Mick Shrimpton in This Is Spinal Tap is a revelation as the bands lead vocalist and the tracks are made even more special by Mike Piggotts magisterial violin playing, adding edge, textures and atmosphere to the songs. Waiting for the Moon is a moody blues shuffle somewhat reminiscent of the Greasebands debut LP for Harvest cut around the same time, whilst See the Sun shines with an exquisite West Coast aura, Parnells scatting in the closing moments reminiscent of the great David Crosby! The closing instrumental, Mongrel Polyop based around some haunting violin riffs is just plain beautiful - a kind of Brit version of Peaches en Regalia with Curtiss cascading grand piano runs to the fore. The 7' comes in a beautiful full-colour gatefold sleeve, and inner bag designed by psychedelic artist John Hurford with extensive sleeve notes by Colin Hill. Pressed on heavyweight 70g vinyl, it is a limited to 250 copies and is available only on this format.' Artist: Title: Jersey Sloo Format: LP + Book Label: Country: UK Price: $43.00 'The legendary late 60s West Coast band, Mad River. The release includes a soft-cover book and 12' five-track EP pressed on 180 gram vinyl, featuring previously-unissued music by the band, in a limited edition run of 500 copies.

Mad River formed at Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio in 1965 and inspired what was happening in San Francisco moved to Berkeley in early 1967 just in time for the Summer of Love. During their brief time together they released a now highly-sought-after 7' EP and two albums for Capitol Records.

The Shagrat release is a substantial addition to their catalogue. Housed in the same sleeve as the vinyl 12', the 12' x 12' 36 page, full color, mini-coffee table book features a 26,000 word history of the band written by Ugly Things journalist David Biasotti, revealing many unknown stories and details about this legendary, Berkeley-based quintet. The book is profusely illustrated with many photos and other memorabilia which have never been seen before, and tells the bands remarkable history, how they were involved in the emergent long hair counter culture and the movement against the Vietnam War (then at its height), their relationship with the Diggers and the Hells Angels, the Beat Poets and most interesting of all their friendship and collaboration with the late writer Richard Brautigan.

Acting as a kind of soundtrack to the book, the 12' record contains five cuts that have never been officially released before, including the four numbers the band cut in Dayton Ohio in early 1967 as a demo before they re-located to California. These show that whilst the band was influenced by the likes of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Country Joe & the Fish (whom drummer Greg Dewey eventually joined and played Woodstock with) and their friends the Youngbloods, they were also pretty fully formed before they set off for the West Coast, as the embryonic Windchimes included here testifies. It was former Youngblood Jerry Corbitt who produced the other long-lost gem from 69, Jersey Slooin this set -- showing that away from the long flowing psychedelic numbers, the band could also write concise, accessible, two-minute rockers (even if the lyrics were completely whacked out!).'

SOLD OUT Artist: Title: Truth Justice and a Wholesome Packed Lunch Format: 12' Label: Country: UK Price: $7.00 1992 4-track Larry Wallis project (ex-Pink Fairies). Artist: Title: Banks of the River/Devils Hour Format: 10' Label: Country: UK Price: $18.00 'A 10' single by legendary 60s band Screw. Screw were a psychedelic blues quintet from south London whose chief claim to fame was their support spot at The Rolling Stones Hyde Park concert in July 1969. It was subsequently written up in Richard Nevilles Play Power book. The group released no records during their brief heyday (1967-70) but Shagrat has unearthed its only two extant recordings Banks of the River b/w Devils Hour recorded in May 1969 under the supervision of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. With nods towards Captain Beefheart, The Misunderstood and Free, the band featured Chris Turner (harmonica), Al Kinnear (guitar), Nick Brotherwood (drums), Stan Scrivener (bass) and Pete Hossell (vocals), and they played many gigs at the time including The Roundhouse, Eel Pie Island and The London Guildhall. The 10' comes in an intricate package all designed by Savage Pencil and includes a special fold over inner sleeve (featuring photos of their Hyde Park appearance and an extensive history of the band written by Shagrat boss Nigel Cross) plus a bonus CD of Psychedelic Harps, a lengthy, exciting blues harmonica duel between Chris Turner and Pete Hossell.'

Press: 'Bee-stung guitar, vocals dug up in some gravel pit, Chicken Legs Weaver create some of the most feverishly destroyed RnB in recent memory.' - Byron Coley, Arthur Magzine. 'The Debut Album Nowhere [produced by Johnny Dowd] has a timeless, stateless feel -- equally rendolent of dingy northern cities and the plains of middle America.

Essentially, this is international blues of the very highest calibre.' - Joe Cushley, Blues Matters magazine / Ballin the Jack on Resonance FM 104.4.

'Clearly the best band the UK has produced in a while.' - Thurston Moore, Sonic Youth. 'Hard times, lost loves, missed connections and dangerous visions, common to all, concealed from none, but each murderously twisted to the tenor of the times. Too true to be any easy, diamond-ring tall-shucking tale - and too good to be ignored by those who know the shouts and moans - the howling of the mighty Wolf and the graveling of the exalted Captain -- and all the rest who have moved, red-eyed, in from the special places where the brain and the heart and the hand strike the ever-particular smokestack-sparks -- and the words that make strong men weep, women wail, and policeman turn in their badges. Cheap gin will make you blind, but the clear truth will never fail you. The blues will set you free.Chicken Legs Weaver play the blues -- and plays it right, right? Not a bad one in the barrel.

So help me, Hannah.' - Mick Farren. 'Leh Jani' -- the legendary Omar Souleyman track -- was originally released in Syria as a sprawling 30-minute epic groove, alongside two additional tracks.

The entire 60-minute cassette album was recorded live to tape in 1998 at the home studio of producer Zuhir Maksi in the village of Ras Al Ain in northeastern Syria. Many of Omars early tapes were recorded in this fashion to replicate the feeling of his live wedding party performances while minimizing the inherent recording chaos and distractions of those parties. The full track -- featured here, reveals plenty more twists and turns from synth and saz during its hypnotic course. 'Leh Jani' appeared in slightly edited form on the original Syrian-issued tape, which was distributed throughout the country for a short period of time. The song was further truncated for Omars debut Western compilation, Highway To Hassake (SF 031CD) and a concurrently assembled internet video clip of the track helped earn Omar his first attention in the West. The album begins with a lively introduction followed by a majestic mawal, before showcasing the incredible uptempo and previously-unreleased 'Salamat Galbi Bidek.' All tracks are embellished with the virtuosic folk stylings of longtime collaborators Rizan Said on keyboards and Hamid Souleyman on electric bozouk.

This complete version of the original Leh Jani cassette album features an hour of music, and ensures an all-night Syrian dabke party no matter where on Earth you rest the needle. First release on Sham Palace, a new label from key Sublime Frequencies conspirator Mark Gergis.' -Sham Palace. Artist: Title: Dabke -- Sounds Of The Syrian Houran Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $18.00 'Dabke is the celebratory music and dance found throughout the Levantine Middle East. By the mid-1990s, a new wave of high-energy electronic dabke music had emerged -- to be heard at weddings, parties and cassette-stalls region-wide.

New wave dabke was first introduced to Western ears by way of Omar Souleyman and his northeastern Syrian sounds. This collection presents a hypnotic and diverse selection of electrified dabke dance cuts from a region in the south of Syria known as the Houran. The Houran refers to a swathe of south Syria and northwestern Jordan, beginning just below Damascus, and encompassing the Syrian cities of Daraa, Suweida, Bosra and the Golan Heights. Its populations include Syrians, Bedouin, Druze, Palestinians and Jordanians -- and this unique confluence of cultures is evident throughout these tracks. Hourani dabke is relentless and commanding, driven by heavy rhythms and weaving synthesizers. Long passages of intense musical fervor are punctuated by fierce male vocals, belting out calls for the audience to dance, alongside the lyrical laments and tributes to love and lust. But the sound of the Houran is best defined by the mejwiz -- a double-reed bamboo flute famed for its droney overtones as well as shrill, buzzing melodic lines achieved by circular breathing techniques.

Historically, Hourani dabke was played with mejwiz, hand percussion and narrative vocal chants. Electronic beats have inevitably embellished the contemporary sound, magnifying the intensity -- and the mejwiz players have taken their craft to the microphone, in order to maintain the instruments prominence over the resulting volume. The sampled mijwiz sound has its own specific qualities and in recent years, can even be heard in combination with its organic counterpart. The recordings featured in this collection were captured live to the mixing desk during weddings and parties throughout the Houran during the 1990s and 2000s, and represent a mere sliver of the sounds found in tape and disc vendors throughout the region. Limited pressing of 1,000.' -Sham Palace. Fail has turned up in a lot of places but on few recordings; this is the first release entirely under his own name, following an 8-project cassette compilation on Dronedisco last year. Most well-known as 1/2 of Lied Music, The Icewhistle finds Fail quietly scraping ghost overtones from his israj (the traditional Bengali instrument heard on Lied Music recordings).

In eight minimal tracks, the sounds of air and urban ambiance mix with the israj to create a haunting, suspended soliloquy.' - Sharks & Pfennigs. Artist: Title: Uncabineted` Format: CDR Label: Country: UK Price: $8.00 'Ben Reynolds and John W. Fail collated several recordings to compile Uncabineted, covering the period between September 2005 (when they met) and March 2006. Reynolds work is well-documented on labels such as Ikuisuss, Memoirs of an Aesthete, Time-Lag and 267 Lattajjaa while Fail has dabbled in myriad projects including Lied Music, Intro to Pterodactyl and Land. Ranging from screaming acoustics to dirgy fuzzfests, the real document is that of experience, joy and camaraderie.' - Sharks & Pfennigs.

Artist: Title: Mirror Image Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $6.50 'Total bliss-out gem from MATT MONDANILE (aka DUCKTAILS), offering two nostalgia-warped avant-pop picks on Shdwply. Compared with the last few, 2010 has been a quiet year for Ducktails, this being his first solo release of the year and all, but dudes obviously just been chilling, going on a road trip or hanging out at the beach or something.

On the A-side, Apple Walk sounds like he just got home after a long hot day and laid his vibe straight onto 4-track, making for 3 minutes of distorted jangle and flanged vocals with a sublime intention. With Mirror Image Index on the flip he enters a slightly stranger zone, a few hours down the line and the air is still warm and the effect is a little druggier, imbuing his looped drums, woozy organ and spiraling synth with a lilting, almost African sense of psyched repetition. Artist: Title: Haunted House Format: 7' Label: Country: USA Price: $7.00 'What a great year in music it has been, all these lo-fi seedlings popping up all around us and making our lives better. With that said, I bring you FLORIDA, not to be confused with those other Florida bands. This Florida incorporates a ghoulish brand of lo-fi pop akin to John Maus and Ariel Pink but not to a point where it becomes bland or insipid, moreso Florida took some of the same influences of David Bowie that John Maus and Ariel Pink did, in that way they are alike. Of course just when I think Ive pinpointed the bands sound I hear a song full of psychotropic drone, appeasing the John Cale fan in me.

This band has a great 7-inch out on Shdwply Records and I most certainly encourage you to purchase it.' -Weekly Tapedeck. Artist: Title: New Raytheonport Format: LP Label: Country: USA Price: $10.00 Recent release from former member of Ariel Pinks Haunted Graffiti. 'Gary War, the mysterious upstart from Brooklyn, NY has just released his debut LP this winter on SHDWPLY/DISARO Records. Playing with vast, sweeping echoes, softly sung lyrics, and infusing sonic textures through synth-driven overtures, Gary Wars album, New Raytheonport takes us through the often banal sonics of the psychedelic form with a fresh take on what seems at first, an aggregate of the past couple of decades of drug-influenced music, and drops us dead center, at the doorstep to La La Land. His tonal insobriety, from one song to the next is a true sign of the times, where artists are driven to explore different avenues, melding genres, vocal styles and instrumentation to arrive somewhere new, all the while taking the listener along for the ride.

Pulling from influences that hold as much up to Chrome as they do Syd Barret, Gary War is able to wrangle them from every corner, and he even covers The Alan Parsons Project without sounding misguided,or a late arriving hippie on a hotbox high. Instead, Gary War creates a sound that wisps through the knobby branches of the past and sumptuously uproots our notions of the boundaries of psychedelia.'

The general off-kilter madness is very fitting of this Shdwply imprint, I love the production on these records-proper old-school reel to reel tape recordings capturing progressive thinking musicians fannying around in basements attempting to hit on something new. I must admit theres a real oddsnsods feel to this album.
